January 1984 - present -- Private practice of law, specializing in post conviction writs and appeals in serious felony and capital homicide cases.

September 1984 - 1991 -- Senior Staff Attorney, half-time, at the California Appellate Project, One Ecker Place, San Francisco, CA 94105, (415) 495-0500. The California Appellate Project is a non-profit corporation established by the State Bar of California to recruit and assist counsel in the representation of indigent criminal and capital defendants before the California Supreme Court.

February 1978 - December 1983. -- Deputy State Public Defender, 221 Main Street, San Francisco, CA 94105. My responsibilities included a variety of criminal appellate functions, with a particular emphasis on capital appeals.
